I am a multimedia artist. I follow the process of creation as it inherently holds the utmost fulfillment for me, so I tend to experiment with many different media in my practice.
Each piece is a deliberate exploration of my own experiences and emotions and my struggle with escapism. I often feel out of place in this world, especially growing up as a mixed race person that never really fit amongst any one culture or community without being shunned for being different. There was no place for someone like me, so I looked inward and to books to find a place of belonging within the world of fantasy.
Drawing inspiration from childhood novels, literature and fiction, I like to tell stories through my art that transcend the ordinary and venture into the surreal. I lean on symbolism as a means of communicating complex feelings that I can’t communicate any other way while still encouraging open interpretation. For me, fantasy isn't just an escape from reality, it is also a tool for reshaping our perception of what is possible. By creating worlds free of racism and sexism, I want to challenge the current paradigm in our world that is preventing people from feeling accepted and even being seen as human beings. My goal is to inspire those who see my work to find the courage to build their fantasy in this life and in this world. I hope to give people that spark, that hope, that idea that is capable of unleashing the brilliance within them.
